Long Weekend!
This long weekend will be spent at the cottage in the rain...well that's what the forecast calls for!! Even if it's raining all weekend, it just wouldn't feel like summer if I spend the first long weekend in the city.
But it's ok if it rains all weekend, because I'll be make these super cute DIY Pots from Alissa over at 33 Shades Of Green.
Hope everyone has a GREAT weekend!

Weekend Images! House!
This past weekend was a busy one! My weekend was filled with two belated Birthday dinners for Denis, my sister, and myself that we were happy to celebrate! Also, Denis and I watched a friend play Roller Derby...I was on the edge of my seat for the whole game! Too intense for me!
For the 'Weekend Images' I thought it might be fun to share some items around the house that I love!
Enjoy!

Friday Link Love! + Happy Mother's Day!
{ Me at age 4, maybe? My Grandmother behind me, my Mom in the middle and my Great Grandmother on the left}
I will be celebrating Mother's Day this Saturday in High Park with of course my mom and sister. After brunch, I'm hoping the Cherry Blossoms will be in bloom so I can capture some great photos.
A great way to display your photo.
I love my new shoes.

Weekend Images! Easter!
Easter is definitely more fun with my nephew Jack! It's not really the same as an adult looking for chocolate eggs the Easter bunny left behind, then when you were a kid!
Lots to eat and lots to do! It was a great weekend spent with family.

Bird's Nest Cookie Cupcakes! Yum!
I saw this recipe to make Bird's Nest Cookies using butterscotch morsels, chow mein noodles and egg-shaped candies over at Tip Junkie that I had to try for this Easter weekend. But of course I had to adapt the recipe to my liking...
For example: instead of butterscotch I used milk chocolate and instead of leaving them as cookies I used them as toppers for my chocolate cupcakes!! I loved the idea of using chow mein noodles but you could also use pretzels.
Makes 2 1/2 dozen cookies
12 oz. package chow mein noodles
12 oz. package milk chocolate morsels
90 egg-shaped candies
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone baking mat. Pour the milk chocolate morsels in a microwave-safe bowl and place them in the microwave. Heat for 30 seconds then remove to stir. Return to the microwave and heat again for 30 seconds. Stir until melted. Add in the chow mein noodles and mix till combined. Use a 1/4 measuring cup to portion out the cookies onto the baking sheet. If the mixture starts to solidify in the mixing bowl, you can reheat for 15 to 30 seconds to melt. Place three egg-shaped candies in the center of each cookie. Allow to set for at least 5 minutes before serving or transferring.
For the cupcakes I just made your everyday chocolate cupcake recipe and piped on some green vanilla buttercream icing. Once the cookies were set I transferred them onto the iced cupcakes.
I had to make mini cupcakes too!!
Enjoy!!

Today I Love: Anchors Away!
This past weekend was not very eventful. It was me sitting on the couch stitching stuffy orders. I'm so thrilled and grateful to receive so many orders, but I was definitely happy to see them go!

Zombie Tea Bag + Oreo Chocolate Chip Cookies
It's funny! Yesterday I went on about how I had nothing exciting to report and now today I do! On Etsy's Facebook page they featured my Zombie Tea Bag. It was insane the response I got. With 11 orders and counting, over 2000 views and over 200 shop favorites I am one happy camper!!! I have been waiting for something like this to kick start my Zombie Stuffies!! My face hurts from smiling!!
Also, here is a fun recipe I did a few weeks ago that brings Oreo and chocolate chip cookies together at last!
2 sticks (1 cup) softened butter
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tablespoon pure vanilla
3 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking soda
10 oz bag chocolate chips
1 pkg. Oreo cookies

10 oz bag chocolate chips
1 pkg. Oreo cookies
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream butter and sugars together with a mixer until well combined. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
In a separate bowl mix the flour, salt and baking soda. Slowly add to wet ingredients along with chocolate chips until just combined. Using a cookie scoop take one scoop of cookie dough and place on top of an Oreo Cookie. Take another scoop of dough and place on bottom of Oreo cookie. Seal edges together by pressing and cupping in hand until Oreo cookie is enclosed with dough. Place onto a parchment or silpat lined baking sheet and bake cookies 9-13 minutes or until golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to cooling rack.
Makes about 2 dozen VERY LARGE cookies.

Weekend Images! The Beaches
Ooh man! I really don't have a good excuse to why I've been M.I.A. from my blog. I don't have anything exciting to report...I can't even say that I've been working long hours, because I haven't! But what I do know is that I'm back to blogging! Woohoo!
This past weekend the weather was beautiful...So, Denis, my sister, by brother-in-law, Jack, Nacho, and I all took a walk along the boardwalk in the Beaches. Nacho enjoyed running in the water, while Jack had a blast through rocks into the water.
Also, a special thanks to Victoria over at Batzy for featuring Shevon + Nacho and my workspace. Make sure to check it out!
Enjoy!

Old Catalogues!
Eaton's was one of Canada's leading department store retailer. It was founded in 1869 in Toronto and closed their doors in 1999. Can you imagine how excited I am to have found 3 original catalogues???!!! It's great and sometimes funny to see the kind of things people were buying over 30 years ago!
There are so many great images...it was hard to narrow down a few to share!

Weekend Images! Full Moon + Nacho's Birthday!
On Sunday around 2 am Denis and I though it was a great idea to grab the camera and head on outside to take a few pictures of the full moon. The biggest in 18years!!
With the camera attached the the tripod, Denis slowed down the shutter speed and opened the aperture to capture the bright moon.
Today Nacho turned 6 years old. To celebrate his special day Denis and I took him to the beach.
Love you buddy!

Sassy Sailor Jacket!
My mom and I decided to hit up the second hand shop near her house this past weekend. I wasn't really in the mood to search through clothes, but I can across this gem that just seemed to jump out at me and I had to buy it. Even my mom was in love with it!I don't know what I love more about this jacket; the embroideries at the cuffs and pockets, the shiny gold buttons, or the 80s shoulder pads?!
