I made my first spaghetti squash the other night! I had been wanting to try one for sometime now, ever since I saw a friend from work have it for lunch!
From doing some research on baking a spaghetti squash I found that you can bake it whole or cut it in half lengthwise. I picked cutting it in half but if you keep it whole, just make sure to pierce a few holes with a large knife or skewer to allow steam to escape.Once cut in half, scoop out the seeds and fibers. Then, place two squash halves cut side up in a baking dish. I brushed each half with oil and sprinkled each with garlic, basil flakes, salt and pepper. (It's really up to you)Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour or until the inside is tender. Once the squash is cooked, take a fork and scrape out the squash flesh little by little. It will naturally separate into noodle-like strands. For extra flavour I added a few tablespoon of pesto and finished it off with a pinch of parmesan cheese. Serve immediately and enjoy!
